Miele dishwasher F69 / F78: circulation pump blocked after disuse
THE SHORT ANSWER
Circulation pump blocked after disuse
Miele F69 and F78 can occur when the circulation pump dries and sticks after weeks or months unused, or at first commissioning. A technical fault is another documented possibility.
Note whether the machine has been unused for a prolonged period.
F69F78Heated water can scald. Use at most 165°F/75°C, never boiling water. Follow the model illustrations for removable parts.
WORK THROUGH THE BASICS
Safe troubleshooting checks
Use the checkboxes to keep track as you read. Stop at any warning or step that does not match your appliance.
Remove the filter as instructed. F78 explicitly includes lower-spray-arm removal. Add 1 liter of heated water, no hotter than 165°F/75°C, with 3–5 drops of rinse aid. Let it stand five minutes.
What to noteThe documented soak is complete.
Refit removed parts correctly; F78 specifies a flat-seated filter and reinstalled lower arm. Restart the program. Miele allows two or three repetitions.
What to noteThe machine operates only with its parts reinstalled.
Switch off, wait a few seconds, then switch on and start the desired program. A recurring code needs service.
