Record an Appliance Error Before Troubleshooting

Documentation checkedBy ErrHiveUpdated

START HERE

Start with a photo of the full display and the appliance’s complete model identifier. Keep letters, spaces and suffixes rather than simplifying them.

Record the context

Note whether the message appeared during filling, draining, spinning or another operation. Record visible symptoms separately from your guess about the cause. This creates a clear service note without pretending the code identifies a failed part.

Match the appliance

Samsung documents model-dependent meanings for dC and 3E. A code also changes meaning across appliance types. Search with the brand and appliance, then verify the exact model.

Check before clearing

Samsung’s refrigerator guidance says not to erase an error by unplugging or changing controls unless directed. A photo preserves the message, but is not permission to use an unrelated reset procedure.

Keep a useful result log

Write down each safe check, what you observed, and whether the code returned. Stop when the guide reaches professional-only work; repeated resets do not establish that a fault is repaired.
