GE Washer A problem has been detected: Harmony Control Error
THE SHORT ANSWER
The Harmony control has recorded an error.
GE Harmony washers can display this message when the control records a fault. The documented reset is specific to Harmony controls, not every GE washer.
Confirm your panel has the Harmony controls named in the support instructions.
Keep checks outside service panels. Stop if there is leaking water, unusual heat, a burning smell or damaged wiring.
WHAT YOU MAY NOTICE
Symptoms to record
- The display shows A problem has been detected.

Follow the screen instructions to unplug, then immediately reconnect the washer.
What to noteThe control restarts.
On the Congratulations setup screen, do not press OK. Hold START/STOP and POWER together until the Home Screen appears.
What to noteThe normal interface returns.

How to use this guidance
If the screen or buttons differ, stop and obtain the correct model instructions. An error message after a voltage or supply event does not identify which component failed.
YOUR NEXT DECISION
When to stop and get help
Arrange service if the Harmony washer or controls still do not operate normally after the documented reset.
